The air network is of importance for the PACA region : indeed, the PACA region is a relay point for the air network of France and the air network of Europe too. Many travellers who travel by plane from Africa to Europe or the contrary have to stop in Marseilles airport : the airport of Marignane which is the fourth airport of France. It creates many jobs for the inhabitants of the region, and it is an important source of income.

But there are drawbacks : the airport of Marignane next to Marseille, one of the

Air transport

I have chosen the planes as a means of transport.
In the PACA region, the plane is not the most used means of transport ; because it is expensive and not useful on short distances. On the other hand, it is more used to travel to distant cities, or other countries :  it's a good way to travel for long distances quickly.

This means of transport represents a big source of greenhouse gas emissions. The consumption for 1 passenger is 5 Liters by 100km.
